SACE & U3A Singapore Strategic Retreat at Danang, Vietnam

01/02/2018

After a full year of operating our SACE and U3A Singapore secretariat and activity centre at Peninsula Plaza, the team of volunteers that manned the centre finally had a break. They are a truly dedicated core group of volunteers comprising SACE BOD Members and Secretariat Administrators – making it possible for SACto be a full-volunteer organisation with not a single paid staff.

The centre was closed for a week and the group went on a retreat to DaNang in Vietnam on22-25 Jan 2018 . The retreat fully achieved its twin objectives of team-building and strategic planning. The programme started with a supper meeting on the first day followed by early breakfast meetings, full-day strategic discussions, tours & excursions, and evening get-togethers. “We are happy!” was the unanimous verdict by all as we headed for home.

A new strategic plan has been mapped out and is being finalised. One key component is greater membership engagement through various interest groups. We hope, through this, to identify more dedicated volunteers and group leaders and to team-build and develop them through similar stimulating and enjoyable retreats.
