Rotary-U3A Investment Learning Series

21/11/2014

The Rotary-U3A Investment Learning Series was successfully launched on 21 Nov 2014 immediately following the Rotary Club of Singapore North’s lunch meeting at the Singapore Swimming Club. Mr Jeremy Seah, former MD of multi-nationals ABB, Ingersoll Rand and Eaton, who left corporate life to start a Thai restaurant in 2011, was the speaker at this inaugural session on Investment Risk-taking. In a well-prepared slide presentation, he shared very enlightening and interesting insights on his experience as a professional turned restaurant entrepreneur. This included facts and figures on evaluating the risks of starting and operating a full-fledge restaurant or one in a food court. The animated questions and discussions that accompanied the presentation was a reflection of the high level of interest generated. This bodes well for the investment learning initiative which aims at building a community of  seniors who are able to make wise investment decisions in business ventures, properties, or stocks & shares. Participants were reminded that there shall be no promotion of products and services at these learning sessions
